The St Regis Mauritius is now open ! Located in Le Morne under the shadow of Mt Brabant on Mauritius’ stunning south west coast, the St Regis Mauritius represents the Africa regions first St Regis hotel.
A coming official launch will see a boom in marketing and promotion efforts but for now – check out the first shots from the Moet and Chandon Sabrage ceremony.
The opening of the St Regis Mauritius represents a mile stone for St Regis worldwide – but also a significant milestone for Starwood Mauritius on the road to recovery as they now have another hotel open after the Grand Mauritian was destroyed by fire just over a year ago leaving the Le Meridien the sole operating Starwood hotel on the island.
Due to reopen again in the second quarter of 2013, the Grand Mauritian is due to be re branded a Westin and named the Westin Turtle Bay. When operational, the Westin will see Starwood Mauritius back up to full capacity alongside Le Meridien and St Regis.
Ever popular with Australian’s – the Starwood brand is a great fit for promotional activities for the Australian market with brands like Le Meridien, Westin and Sheraton having a strong recognition level amongst Australian travellers.
In other news : We still can not tell you who the PR company promoting Mauritius in Australia is nor unfortunately what they will be doing to promote Mauritius in Australia because we haven’t been told ……………. but we will let you know !
