Over time we have struggled to find some really good footage of surfing in Mauritius. There are lots of short, not so great videos of surfing but nothing that stands out !
Until now ! We just found this great video from Vimeo user Stevie called “Five Months in Mauritius”
It is long, we know, but bear with it and watch till the end if you want to see all the surfing. Stevie includes lots of great shots again of the island and people, with the shots of a Hindu procession like Maha Shivrati in the opening scenes.
There are great shots of the islands many coves and beaches, the marine and animal life aas well as a visit to Casela Nature Park in the west near Flic en Flac.
With footage from lots of different breaks around the island, this great video shows that it isn’t just Reunion Island next door that has surfing, nor is Mauritius just for kite surfers.
