One of the most anticipated hotel openings of the year in Mauritius, when the St Regis opens its doors in September it will be the third Starwood resort on the island and the first St Regis in the Africa region – a big milestone for the hotel group.
In Mauritius Starwood operates the Le Meridien Ile Maurice, and is re opening The Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection property, newer and fresher in December this year after a fire ravaged the resort.

A big deal is made in the video of the Kite surfing directly out the front of the resort. One Eye, is famous world wide with kite surfers for its regular strong ground swell and long pealing breaks. A new world series pro kite surfing tour kicked off in 2011 with One Eye the location for the event in Mauritius – check out the video of the KSP World Series event in Le Morne here
Traditional surfers can handle the edge of the wave, but kite boarders have far greater control on when they decide to exit !!
